holiday time

so from most of the blogs i love and read, i find writers and bloggers are very kind and in the holiday spirit create gift guides with others in mind. i would like to compile things for me. primarily, i would like a calendar. these are my favorites. 1 2 3 4

oh hi

since winter can be my favorite season, since i've gotten so many please blog again responses, since i'm unable to organize my wish list otherwise AND since my work computer seems to permit me to blog again, i'm back. hey.

l'art

i'm having issues uploading photos i'm not sure why..so i've been pretty light this week. a new friend has been making rounds around all of new york's museums and i was reminded of this video. pretty neat.

70 Million by Hold Your Horses ! from L'Ogre on Vimeo.

nicole richie?!

i'm kinda ashamed to admit but i love all her new jewels. the leather inlay is pretty cool. you win this time richie.

important discovery

this is very good nail polish.

-it doesn't chip
-dries fast!
-it comes in a million colors, this is turquoise
-makes my grubby lil nails look A-ok, see pic.

le quatorze juillet

in honor of la fete nationale...

un deux trois quatre cinq six

ceci n'est pas un t-shirt

i have a soft side for magritte and bikes. this shirt is the perf combo.

couple crush

if i could tell you the amount of times i wished i was a married redheaded model living in TN with my rockstar husband, well, it would be at least 2o or so times. after reading about her music in vogue last month its about all i've been listening to lately at work. the below is one of my favorites.

i relate to karen in trying to prove myself as a model and a musician. its been an uphill battle for me..too..

adventures in wallpaper removal

i dont know if you can make out the frantic scratches that i circled. but as i said behold this is when i gave up. post crying, post bleeding, pre ennui.

oh man

i overslept for like...2 months again. well thank you for your nice notes about my absence. i am alive and well. in fact very well, as part of the reason for my blogvacay was because i moved to a perfectly perfect street in the village. (i'm not being a brat here, but
its really cute).

He vuelto!

i'm back! here are a few from buenos aires. i'm going to post some recommendations/highlights later but these are a few of my fave pictures that i feel best portray my trip.

adios amigos

shortly i'll be on a plane to argentina! be back on the 24th. have a lovely weekend!

downtown tasting

in the past few months i've done 3 tasting menus in the village and i thought i'd catalogue my findings in case anyone needs a recommendation for a special or just because occasion.

1. blue hill: 75 washington pl, near. 6th
-5 holy crow courses @ 68

- omg my favorite meal ever, so fresh and creative

- i dont know what to say just go, great vibe

2. camaje: 85 macdougal st., near bleeker

-sun-thu, any three courses @ $35

-local food

-very cozy/neighborhood gem feeling

3. mas farmhouse: 39 downing
-great service

-delicious farmfresh food, not that inventive but solid

-great drink menu, bit of an 30s+ crowd but good for spesh occasions

table of my dreams

behold, this is the dining room table of my dreams.

it really is. its exactly what i want in a table in that it is: perfect, natural, modern, and is the manifestation of my new home's theme, "urban bohemian." why WHY is it $7,250. i found other live edge options in case this table also is your dream table.
anthro @ $3,498
trailer park slope @ 2,500

a bathroom rabbit

in my new place i have a very plain bathroom, the only accent in it randomly is hunter green. i'm not sure how to make it less...grandma-y. maybe a giant version of this print would help. i liked it because he is modestly looking away, appropriate. happy weekend!

tied up

i've been pretty..tied up this week. i'm going to buenes aires as i mentioned before, next friday! i'm also tying up loose ends in respect to my upcoming move to the village. its exciting but all of this change has got me in..knots! get it? the necklaces? knots! alright that's enough. here, here and here.

for pete's sake

its finally the weekend.

love this print, don't you? it illustrates a very nice weekend plan.

close race

but in the end...

finally bought it, can't wait to wear it.

romance is alive (in philly)

my lovely bestie and her man just bought a place in philly and i am reminded of the romantic murals there i remember reading about in the times. i do love them.

hold these please

i'm getting my apt inspo all mixed up in mydocuments folder. so if you could just hold these that would be great. thanks.

poster here, cranes here.

oh right i almost forgot about...

Downtown Dodgeball starts Tuesday, April 27. Crap.
{frighteningly accurate representation of my future via}

something i would rather be doing on a friday

must get dog. must get bike. must get out of here.

new digs

i have a lot to do for this moving business over the next month or so before i change neighborhoods, and what i keep getting distracted by is stationary. namely searching for new address cards. i'm having a tough time finding ones out there in the universe that i love, so i'm probably going to design my own. here are two that i thought were cute though.

{from here and here}

girl crush: janelle monae

this is my get up in the morning and face the music music. the corresponding video has taught me many things.
1. janelle monae is my girl crush
2. i really need a pair of saddle shoes
3. i'm not a good dancer

rolling stone

i'm sorry i've been missing. i signed on apt rental on friday. as of may 1 i'm leaving the upper west side for a miniature place in the west village. i've dubbed it the abby diorama, as it will house 1/5 of my items. the rest will live at my parents...eee. thus much like a diorama this place is a miniature representation of actual life. shake yo' pom pom

i'm a lady who likes my stuff adorned--bows, ruffles and now pom poms.

addendum: stumptown, nyc

the coffee at stumptown at 18 W 29th St has been blogged about a lot and rightfully so. its so delicious. i had an ice coffee on saturday and am still thinking about it as i resentfully sip on my flavia office blend. however, an addendum need be made to these posts. the boy baristas are really cute. its an interesting marketing strategy and i'm not sure how they enforce but i like it. .

its like hooters but for girls.

want em, need em, gonna get em

such cute cards.
